The ICMS is governed by an appointed Board of Directors who provide fiduciary management, strategic oversight and leadership in the advancement of the Society's mission to promote safe and effective adult stem cell therapies world wide.

 

The ICMS Board of Directors are:


MICHAEL FREEMAN, PhD, MPD, DC
Board President

freemanDr. Michael Freeman is a Forensic Epidemiologist specializing in the application of probability and epidemiologic data to forensic venues. He serves as Affiliate Associate Professor of Epidemiology at Oregon Health and Science University School of Medicine, Department of Public Health and Preventive Medicine, where he teaches a course in Forensic and Trauma Epidemiology. Dr. Freeman is also an Adjunct Associate Professor of Forensic Medicine and Epidemiology at the Institute of Forensic Medicine, Faculty of Health Sciences, University of Aarhus, Denmark. 

Dr. Freeman holds a Ph.D. in public health with a focus in epidemiology from Oregon State University, as well as a Masters in Public Health (MPH) degree in biostatistics and epidemiology, also from OSU.


RICARDO RODRIGUEZ, MD
Board Member

rodriguezDr. Ricardo Rodriguez has performed thousands of Cosmetic and Reconstructive cases over the course of his career. These cases have included breast reconstruction, replants of fingers after traumatic injuries, skin grafting on burn patients and diabetics, as well as two decades of experience with the full spectrum of cosmetic surgery.  His practice, CosmeticSurg, is now dedicated to cosmetic surgery, performing unique procedures such as the brazilian butt lift, body lift, and lip lift, as well as traditional procedures. Additionally he has worked years to refine fat processing and fat grafting techniques. Dr. Rodriguez combines a love of technology and new surgircal techniques with a high respect for the "tried and true" plastic surgery. 

Dr. Rodriguez was trained in Plastic Surgery at Yale University Medical School and is Board Certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery.


FRANCESCA VITELLI, PhD
Board Secretary

vitelliDr. Francesca Vitelli is currently the Senior Vice President of Operations and Technology Commercialization for Stematix.  Prior to this she served as Assistant Professor Research in the Center for Molecular Development and Disease, Institute for Biosciences and Technology (IBT) at Texas A&M University System – Health Science Center, and Technology Director of Regenetech, Inc. 

Dr. Vitelli received her Ph.D. in Neurogenetics from the University of Siena, Italy and did her post-doctoral work in Human Genetics and Pediatric Cardiology research at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston.


SEAN KOHLES, PhD
Board Member

kohlesDr. Sean S. Kohles is a Research Associate Professor of Mechanical & Materials Engineering at PSU, an Adjunct Associate Professor of Surgery at OHSU, and the Director of Kohles Bioengineering, an independent, consulting and research entity. Dr. Kohles' research is currently funded by the National Institutes of Health and the Collins Medical Trust. He has published over 135 journal and conference papers in the broad area of cell/tissue/implant biomechanical engineering and serves on the Editorial Boards for the Journal of Biomechanics and the Annals of Biomedical Engineering. 

Dr. Kohles completed a doctoral degree in Bioengineering and BS/MS degrees in Engineering Mechanics at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.


KEITH MARCH, MD, PhD
Board Member

marchDr. Keith March currently serves as the Director of the Indiana Center for Vascular Biology and Medicine.  He also serves as an Honorary Board Member for the International Federation of Adipose Therapeutics and Science Society and is the Chief Medical Advisor for the Cell Therapy Foundation.  He is currently focusing his efforts on research exploring approaches using both adult stem cells and novel devices to treat peripheral artery disease, acute and chronic ischemic heart disease and atherosclerosis. Most recently, working with Dr. Michael Murphy, he has overseen the completion of the first FDA-approved USA trial testing stem cells for peripheral vascular disease.

Dr. March holds both a MD and PhD from Indiana University School of Medicine.


TODD MCALLISTER, PhD
Board Member

mcallisterDr. McAllister has a Ph.D. in BioMedical Engineering from the University of California, San Diego.  He is the co-founder and CEO of Cytograft Tissue Engineering, Inc.  Dr. McAllister’s research has been published in Nature Medicine, The New England Journal of Medicine, and the Lancet among other prestigious journals. Dr. McAllister is also the co-Director of the Center for Regenerative Medicine at the St. Joseph’s Translational Research Institute in Atlanta, Georgia where he oversees a broader range of cell-based cardiovascular repair technologies. 

In addition to the ICMS Board, he also serves on several advisory boards, including Lumen, Biocardia, and the Medical University of South Carolina.

DAVID AUDLEY

audleyDavid Audley is a business development professional who holds degrees from Willamette University and Portland State University. He has been Vice President of Sales and Marketing at VizX Labs, Alumni Director at Willamette University, and CEO/Partner at TribalMind. Currently he is the Executive Director and Chief Executive of the International Cellular Medicine Society (ICMS), helping to advance the society's mission of promoting safe and effective stem cell therapies world wide.
